On admission, the patient will be under my care and that of my team. Planning for discharge starts as soon as the patient is admitted. Not many people enjoy the thought of entering a hospital for treatment. We recognise this fact and aim to make the patient stay however long or short a positive one.

Some patients are admitted and discharged on the same day. Such patients are known as “Day Cases”. Patients staying overnight or for longer – “inpatients” – would be admitted to the ward.
If you are a patient from another Region, you may wish for your family to be near you. In this case we can advice you on suitable accommodation near the clinic, so that your family are within easy reach to assist you.
Your discharge journey starts soon after the operation. Soon after the intervention you may start rehabilitation.

Patients, and their families, are kept always kept informed about their recovery and when they would be expected to be dismissed. On discharge it is recommended they are picked up by a friend or relative.

Prior to discharge there may be a pre-arranged follow-up consultation and you will be given a detailed plan of what the best pathway will be for you to follow for your full recovery.

My aim is to get you back as soon to a satisfactory quality, of life free from pain,
as soon as possible.
